Fly FM hosted the Fly Malaysian English Music Forum on the 13th of September, bringing together artists and industry leaders to explore the future of Malaysian English music. The event showcased the station’s ongoing dedication to uplifting and celebrating local talent.
As a key part of the campaign, Fly FM will now allocate 25 % of its playlist to Malaysian English music. This bold move opens up more opportunities for homegrown artists to reach wider audiences, while fostering a stronger connection between local music and fans nationwide.
In addition, Fly FM is set to launch a monthly showcase highlighting a different homegrown artist each month. Through this initiative, both emerging and established musicians will have a platform to gain consistent exposure, placing them on par with international acts.
Capping off the forum was the announcement of the Fly Malaysia Awards, the event is set to be an annual one, to recognize outstanding contributions to the local English music scene, inspiring more artists to pursue their craft.
“We want to make sure Malaysian English music gets the recognition it deserves, both here and abroad, and we believe these steps, will lead Fly FM to become a platform that truely supports the local industry” said Seán Farrell Matjeraie, Content Director of Fly FM.
Listeners can show their support for Malaysian English music by tuning in to Fly FM at 95.8 FM in the Klang Valley.
