8FM CONTINUES IN PRODUCING CREATIVE CONTENT

The one and only Chinese radio station under Media Prima Audio, 8FM always offers great prizes to the listeners through their program. Beginning of the September, 8FM has running their first campaign, 8FM Our Voice Concert (我们的声音演唱会) where the hotstar singers had to perform a live concert through radio airwaves, 8FM on every Friday night. The program was performed by 10 famous Asian Chinese singers and hosted by DJ Kyann and DJ Hana.

8FM had also ran Sherlock’s Ear Campaign (福耳摩斯) which not only tested the listening ability of the listeners, but also the imitation ability of the radio announcers where they had to imitate the voices of the famous singers. The listeners who succeed in guessing the right answer could win up to RM450 cash prizes. This campaign received very warm participation from the listeners.

Another contest ran by 8FM called Golden Fingers (金手指). The concept of this contest was to test the ability of the listener to type the full sentences of the soundtrack played during airtime at a fast speed. The winner was picked by who sent the fastest one through WhatsApp. Some of the listeners choose to accept RM300 while others choose to compete with DJs to win RM888 and the competition was held at one of the night markets in Petaling Jaya. The crowd was very overwhelming and supportive.

Halloween is all about ghosts! In conjunction with the Halloween Festival, 8FM ran a “Whispering Wee” where they gathered great figures in their respective fields to shared their experiences encountered with ghosts. The lineup were Priscilla Wong (Hong Kong Actress), Jack Neo (Singaporean Film Director, Chan Yong (Malaysian Youtuber), Wshushen (Malaysian Couple Youtuber). Although the guests were from different professions, they also experienced horrifying supernatural events that could make people’s hearts tremble.

Do you think they are done? The 8FM team never takes a chance to rest! They came with another exciting singing campaign called “Superstar Shamil”. “Superstar Shamil” is an unknown guy who sang any songs with his own skills and ‘unique’ voices. During the airing time, the code was given through on airing time by the DJs, and listeners had to send the code through WhatsApp. Lucky listeners received the call from the radio announcers and had to listen to the provided soundtrack performed by “Superstar Shamil” and guess the title and singer of the song. The prize offered was a cash prize of up to RM1,000. By applying the concept “Time is Money”, if the listener does not answer within the set time, the amount of money is gradually reduced.

8FM is always aiming to be the best Chinese radio station in Malaysia and Singapore as their approach in serving the best content to listeners in order to appreciate them.
