Embracing a transformative journey, the station showcased its revamped image and roster of radio hosts during a lively press conference themed as the “8FM 2nd Birthday Party.”
The celebration was a delightful affair, brimming with unexpected revelations. Each charismatic DJ took the stage to introduce their dynamic co-hosts and reveal a glimpse into the captivating content awaiting listeners in their respective segments.
Under the guidance of Nazri Noran, CEO of Media Prima Audio, and in collaboration with Network Director Moots and Content Director Jason Poon, the unveiling of the station’s fresh identity was a pivotal moment. The new emblem, now bearing the name “Eight FM,” was presented to the audience.
In response to inquiries about the rationale behind this transformation, Jason Poon elaborated on the decision.
He pointed out that the use of the numeral “8” had previously led to some ambiguity among both listeners and partners, as it could be pronounced differently—sometimes as “ba” in Mandarin and other times as “baat” in Cantonese. Consequently, after thorough discussions with the management team, it was unanimously decided to adopt the name “Eight FM” to establish a clearer and more easily understood brand identity.
In the early morning hours, from 6 AM to 10 AM on weekdays, the captivating show “今天勇往直前” (Go Forward) takes center stage, skillfully hosted by Cheryl and KK. This program serves as a platform for diverse perspectives on current events, encourages contemplation of various phenomena, and delves into intriguing occurrences in our surroundings.
Following this engaging morning show is “Na么十在” (Thick Ten), led by the charismatic Hana, airing on weekdays from 10 AM to 1 PM. Hana delves into the latest in entertainment and offers profound life insights, making for an enriching mid-morning experience.
From 1 PM to 4 PM on weekdays, Loh takes the reins of “一点点就好” (A Dash will Do), a show that invites you to view the world and engage in life discussions from a refreshingly unique perspective.
During the drive-time hours from 4 PM to 8 PM on weekdays, the dynamic duo of Kyann and KeQing light up the airwaves with “放工哈哈Show” (The Haha Show). Their promise is to infuse laughter into the lives of all listeners, delivering informative content that lives up to the standards set by the Breakfast Show, known as “大师请指教” (The Great Master).
